Hi everyone, I have a few ideas that came to my mind:
First Idea: OCAD is moving into having entire school communication network mainly through internet. Our website is constantly growing, now we have MyCourse with all our course materials online, Student and faculty email is an essential tool to communicate between classmates and faculty members. Even this Think Tank Blog becomes this class' major place to exchange ideas.
My idea is to give the OCAD website a page that devote to green awareness, every student and faculty member can submit articles related to green design and art, people can also express personal thoughts towards any issues relate to green. This platform will act as a tool to inspire us as designers in practice to become more aware in green thinking. AND the best part is that by creating a green page we will continue to generate many more OCAD green projects/ideas, in the long run we will and can improve OCAD's environment drastically by having more people contributing their opinions!
Second Idea: Have OCAD's environment fills with things that made out of recycled materials, this can include chairs, benches, tables, garbage bins, light fixtures, wall treatments, space dividers, art works, etc. Every disciplines from the community can submit proposals, in that way, we can raise awareness of school green environment by infusing many different green possiblities in every corner of the school. A sign will be put beside each product/art work to give user some facts that relate to the materials used and other environmental issues. This will be present in a form of a permanent installation or exhibition in OCAD. "Everywhere I go in OCAD, I see Green"
Third Idea: Have art sale host once or twice a year for everyone from OCAD to sell arts that made from recycled materials to raise awareness in the community about thinking green, and also at the same time, raise money for any green projects that OCAD is working on.
If anyone interest in any of my idea, please join me to make this project happen!
leave me any comments you have. :)
