Ayumi and Danbee's Big Idea --section 15

Here's Ayumi and my idea for the second part of "Making OCAD Greener" project. We are thinking of building portable ashtrays that can be placed near the smoking pit of our school in order to encourage our smoker students and faculty members to throw the buds away in this ashtray. we often see small buds laying everywhere on the side walk of our school and it is quiet disturbing. In order to prevent the smokers from continuously throwing the buds anywhere, this ashtray that is about 4ft tall will allow smokers to develop a habit of throwing the buds where they belong. This ashtray piece will resemble a human face with its mouth open. Every time someone throws buds into this mouth, the face will cough in order to send the message that smoking is bad and can cause cancer. This way people will be more aware of the negative aspect of smoking, and through this Guerilla tactic, we are hoping to get some positive responses. This piece will also be translucent so people will see how many cigarettes are being smoked every day. we are hoping this design approach will be successful. we will further explain about our concept during the Critique day.
