Toby Heaps Lecture

Hey everyone,
This is my post about Toby Heaps. I thought it was pretty cool that he was rolling around with his roller blades. I over heard that he didnt bring his bike this time. Well anyways, he talked about reducing carbon emissions by 50%-80% around 2050. Such solutions that he mentioned were using Solar energy and wind energy. These energies are free and they do not involve polluting the environment. Transportation is also an issue due to amount of carbon emissions involved everyday. Walking, commuting, biking and riding the bus, are simple solutions to reduce these emissions.
In the lecture, he mentioned a solution for the climate change, called OPTION 13. I don't have a broad explanation of it but these are three.
  • Do nothing
  • Quantitative national greenhouse gas caps
  • Synchronized Global Climal Architecture
I never got the chance to ask my question but, my question was "In transportation, if ethanol could cause more problems when used, what would be his ideas and solutions for transportation problems due to climate change?"

Thanks Sasha for this overview and for your comments on the lecture! I would like to hear more about solution 13 in class.

So, what do you think Toby's answer to your question might be?
