Recycling and Garbage

Our group research on "Recycling and Garbage". Find out that our city Toronto's waste diversion rate increased every year. In 2007, an average of 86 truck loads per day of solid waste went to Michigan landfill…down from 142 trucks a day in 2006.Toronto sent approximately 750,100 tons of waste to Michigan landfill in 2007. People try to solve this problems with many differnt kind of services. We are going to introduce those services to you in the class.

For our OCAD comunity, Lots of wastes generated by some curriculum-based projects we created. There are 300 garbage bins, Office trash cans, galvanized containers, wall mounts and outside containers in the university. The garbage in the school is emptied daily in all the classrooms, studios, and corridor spaces. Paper products are the most dominant. OCAD recycles metals, paper, plastics, wood but other garbage such as food scrape and non-recyclable items are sent to the trash compactor. As the members of OCAD, we should find a way to solve our problems as well.
