198 Spadina Ave- Antonio De Luca

We visited 3 sites in the Augusta area, 4 sites in the Kensington area, 10 sites in the Spadina & Dundas area and 1 site in the Spadina & Queen area.

Our group decided that our favorite story was on Spadina and Queen. This man, named Antonio De Luca, talked about a small alleyway where alcoholics and teenagers engaged with drugs. An eye opener for him was during 5am when the drugs die off and lights turn on, the teenagers would fight over a five dollar bill and kill themselves over it. He was amazed that this was happening and could not believe how they were dealing with their problems. This issue that he encountered surprised him because this never happened before and now it is a problem within the society.

We chose this story because it opens our eyes to the problems that are new to our society, especially drugs and alcohol involved with children.
