the kensington escapades!!

We hit quite a few sites along the way.. Mike and Rob did kensington st. Katie did Agusta, and Shae and Vin did the remaining sites. We decided our faverote was the story of Fitzroy Cresent, which runs in between Agusta and Kensington. It conatins a row of worker houses with tiny back yards that have been there since kensington was first established as a community. It was originally in habited by Jewish settlers. It now is host to a number of different inhabitants from local store owners, to artists and designers, to older people who have been in the area for decades. They rarely go on sale, partially due to the location, where most people wouldn't even think houses stood. There has been an influx of 'noisy youngsters' to the area, which has degraded the solitude, however the detatched location of the street still shelters it from the main flow of people. It is intriguing that people live down an alley that most people just walk by and disregard. I would post pictures but the ones I have are all hard copies. I will bring them to class for visual aids. Cheers!!!
